Special Journal Issue to Feature Selected Papers from IDETC 2018 Special Journal Issue to Feature Selected Papers from IDETC 2018 Special Journal Issue to Feature Selected Papers from IDETC 2018June 29, 2018 The editors of the ASME Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics are seeking manuscripts for a special issue highlighting papers that will be presented at the upcoming 42nd Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, which will be held as part of the 2018 International Design and Engineering Technical Conferences Computers and Information in Engineering Conference (IDETC/CIE 2018). The conference, which is sponsored by the ASME Design Engineering Divisions Mechanisms and Robotics Technical Committee, will take place from Aug. 26 to 29, 2018, in Quebec City, Canada. The Mechanisms and Robotics Conference provides a venue for the exchange of technical and scientific information on the theory and practice of mechanical and robotic systems. Topics will cover a range of areas related to the entwur f and control of mechanical, mechatronic and robotic systems including kinematics, dynamics, design, analysis and validation, reconfigurable mechanisms, novel mechanisms and robots, software systems, educational practices, and various applications. The conference organizers are particularly interested in papers from the emerging areas of sensor-controlled robotic systems rehabilitation-, soft- and medical-robotics prostheses and exoskeleton design and development. The editor of the special issue is Venkat Krovi, Ph.D., Clemson University, U.S.A. The guest editors for the issue are Clment Gosselin, Ph.D., Laval University, Canada Pierre M. Larochelle, Ph.D., South Dakota School of Mines Technology, U.S.A. and Andreas Mller, Ph.D., Johannes Kepler University, Austria.Only papers submitted and presented at the Mechanisms and Robotics 2018 Conference will be considered for the special issue. Papers should be submitted electronically to the journal at http//journaltool.asme.org. Authors who already have an account should log in and select Submit Paper at the bottom of the page. Authors who do not yet have an account should select Submissions and follow the step-by-step instructions. In either case, at the Paper Submittal page, authors should select Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics and then choose Selected Papers from IDETC 2018 in the special issue dropdown menu. The deadline to submit a paper for the special issue of the ASME Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics is Oct. 8, 2018. Initial reviews are expected to be completed by Nov. 19, 2018. Accepted papers will be published online as soon as the entire issue is ready. The print edition of the issue will be published in April 2019.
